Kate Clarke
Registered Physiotherapist
My name is Kate. I am glad that you made it here.
I graduated with a BSc in Physiotherapy from University College Dublin, Ireland in 2013 and have been practicing physiotherapy in both the public and private settings for the past 11 years. During this time, I have assessed and treated a wide variety of illnesses and injuries both in the acute and chronic phases of healing. The clients and colleagues I have been lucky enough to meet along the way have truly inspired and shaped the practice that I am excited to offer to you today.
I am fascinated by our body's ability to compensate in order to maintain a balanced state; this innate resilience it holds. It is this observation and experience that guided me to further study and practice visceral manipulation. This assessment and gentle treatment approach paired with my extensive knowledge of the body's anatomy and observation of your movement patterns will aid you in better understanding, feeling and enjoying your body again.
I believe to be well involves observing and caring for our body, mind and spirit. I believe each individual holds the innate ability to heal. We need support with this. I am deeply passionate to meet you where you are, to listen and to support you in being well.
Visceral manipulation:
Visceral manipulation is also known as organ specific fascial mobilization. Assessment involves listening techniques (performed with the hand) which assist in determining the most dominant restrictions present in the body. These restrictions may be one of the sources of pain and/or dysfunction being experienced either locally or elsewhere in the body. This includes pain and/or dysfunction experienced in the musculoskeletal system. These "listening" findings are combined with an analysis of your movement patterns in order to create a tailored manual therapy treatment plan. The manual therapy treatment techniques I use involve gentle stretching of the restricted tissue.
If you would like to determine if visceral manipulation is for you, I am happy to offer you a 15 minute complimentary phone call prior to deciding to book an appointment.
